Red state Seahawks

Tommorow, the Seattle Seahawks will roll over the Carolina Panthers on their much-delayed march to the Superbowl. Things being as they are, it was only a matter of time before someone dragged Seattle’s less than sensible politics, and the whole “Red State/Blue State” thing, into it.

Of course, longtime readers of this blog know that there is a deep, metaphysical connection between the Seahawks and the similarly longsuffering Washington State Republican Party. But there’s a less metaphyical connection as well.

Thanks to the magic of PDC reporting and Opensecrets.org, that connection can be made clear. There are three current Seahawks who have given money to Republican candidates–none to Democrats. Fullback Mack Strong, son of a longtime Republican activist, leads the pack, along with center Rob Tobeck and Defensive Tackle Craig Terrill. Former Seahawk Jerry Wunsch has given some money as well. And as long as we’re talking about former Seahawks, there’s always the greatest one of all. And he buys the Seahawks enough Red State cred to last for a long, long time.

UPDATE: I completely forgot to mention that if you do a little bit more sleuthing on Opensecrets.org, you’ll find that a Sarah Hasselbeck of Kirkland, Washington, gave a nice chunk of change to the Bush campaign a couple years ago. My guess is that she’s related in some way to the Matt Hasselbeck who blurbed Dino Rossi’s book. And who is, you know GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL!

    I can’t get enough either.

I really hate to mix politics & football like this, but thank goodness Matt Hasselbeck, Mack Strong and Rob Toebeck are all Republicans!!!

We can use them come November in two places!!! Quest Field/Seahawks Stadium and the ballot box!!!!

    Hi

Here’s a interesting video I created to show off the dervishs dance from the Guild Wars Nightfall party.
The dance the dervish does is the same one that Christoper Walken did in the video for Fatboy Slims’ - Weapon of choice music video (hence the music used)

Lithium ion (Li-Ion) is the latest technology for laptop batteries; although Li-Ion batteries hold about the same amount of power as NiMH, they are considerably lighter and far superior.
