Ebey’s Landing
President’s Day was spent hiking the 3.5 mile loop hike along the western coast of Whidbey Island at Ebey’s Landing. It was a gorgeous day, and a nice little warmup hike for the longer hikes I’m looking forward to doing as the weather warms up.

A view of the sand spit from the north–you walk along that spit to get to the bluffs from which the picture was taken.

A view of the Olympics from the bluffs. Oh, and some islands, too.

A view of the spit from the south. Similar to the northern view, but switched around. Isn’t geography crazy?

The coast to the south, including Ebey’s Landing itself. Great views, all around, especially for such a short hike and such a small elevation gain. Good stuff.

Thanks for the trip home. I grew up about a half mile from the Landing, just behind the center stand of trees in your fourth picture. It’s good to see that the area has been developed for more people to enjoy. When I was a kid, the trails on the bluff were those left by rabbits.
I always considered it strange that the bluff from where you took the pictures had a considerable number of cacti, not what one would expect in the Puget Sound area.
