Writing
Writing is Timothy's first and longest love, and his greatest skill. He is available for essays, opinion pieces, news articles, feature articles, speeches, scripts, press releases and whatever else may come up. Timothy is currently employed writing marketing copy for a small biotechnology company in Seattle, writing press releases, marketing materials, web copy and whatever else may come up. In the past, Timothy has written news stories, features and editorials for various school periodicals, including multiple regular editorial columns, and has written two plays performed by the Hodge Podge Players in Minnesota. Timothy's writings are available today in the form of Bright Orange Sweater Coat, his 2004 compilation of fiction and nonfiction, and at The Flag of the World weblog.
Editing
If writing is his sword, editing is Timothy's shovel, doing the real work of uprooting and rearranging words until a piece is a pleasure to read. Timothy's current employment involves editing all the text that goes out to the public and in addition, he recently finished a stint as Editor-in-Chief of the Bethel College Clarion, where he also served as the Editorial Page editor for three years. He also spent three years editing the papers of a great many college students at the school writing center.
In his various careers, hobbies and short-term interests, Timothy has picked up various other skills that can be utilized alone or in conjunction with the above, including newspaper and magazine layout, desktop publishing, graphic design and a little bit of web design, examples of which you can see right now.
